Gourette's Plateau de Bézou snowshoe trail offers a unique and varied experience for hikers. This easy hike, 2.5 km long and lasting around 1h30, is ideal for families or snowshoeing beginners.
The route starts at the exit of the Bézou cable car, where you will pass the high-altitude restaurant “le Cairn”. This point marks the start of the snowshoe circuit, located at the former arrival point of the carpet. Next, the hike takes you into a wood where the trail winds through nature, forming a loop to avoid an avalanche corridor.
The trail then leads you out of the woods, offering spectacular views of two peaks: Pic de Ger and Pène Médaa. Once you've reached the green slopes, the trail takes you to a small summit and back, offering a panoramic view of the Bézou plateau. The hike ends with a descent to the bottom of the slopes, where you'll find the Tétras carpet to climb back up to the Cairn.
This route offers a pleasant and accessible way to discover the natural beauty of Gourette, with its snow-covered forests and breathtaking mountain views, while offering a variety of activities to suit all tastes.
The pedestrian pass is valid for the whole day and includes transport on the Bézou gondola, on sale at the Tourist Office or at the resort ticket office.
